The band became known nationwide in early 1984 with the single Zuppa Romana produced by Anthony Monn . Schrott sang to the music in the style of popular Italian songs after 8 items from an Italian menu that were strung together at will. The single rose to number 27 in the German sales charts in February 1984 and the musicians were included in the ZDF hit parade , Caution, Music! and the current showroom .

Walter Fricke left a year after the success. Although the band existed for more than ten years, Zuppa Romana remained the only commercial success.
