NDR 90.3 is the regional radio program of the North German Broadcasting Corporation (NDR) for Hamburg. It is aimed primarily at an older audience. You can hear a mix of German music, oldies and international hits, plus the latest information from Hamburg and around the world every hour . NDR 90.3 defines itself as “good mood radio” with reports , interviews and entertainment. On Sundays, between 6 a.m. and 8 a.m., Germany's oldest regularly broadcast program is broadcast, the Hamburg Harbor Concert .
From 2008 to 2012, the wave manager was Juliane Eisenführ, and from 2012 Sabine Rossbach was the program manager and director of the Landesfunkhaus Hamburg. Since September 2016, Hendrik Lünenborg has moved from the NDR directorship to the waveguide of NDR 90.3. Until 2000 the program was called NDR Hamburg-Welle 90.3 . Well-known moderators in the program are Ulf Ansorge , Stephan Hensel , Carlo von Tiedemann , Maren Bockholdt and Stephan Heller.

In the 1990s, the music program of what was then Hamburg-Welle was characterized by "melodic pop and oldie music". In January 2000, the broadcaster changed its format to a "hit and oldie program" of which 60 percent consisted of German hits. Since 2012 the music program has been rejuvenated again. Since then, 60 percent of oldies from the 60s, 70s and 80s can be heard, plus 20 percent German-language music and 20 percent international pop. Since the summer of 2013, the station has hardly played any more hits.
Listening range
The Media Analysis II / 2006 found that NDR 90.3 tuned in to 454,000 listeners an average hour - a record result for the station. This corresponds to a daily range of 21.9 percent. At MA 2007 / I, NDR 90.3 even replaced its private competitor Radio Hamburg in first place on the most popular radio station. 2006 and 2007 have been the most successful for NDR 90.3 so far. According to MA 2009 / II, the market share is 24.1 percent (MA 2009 / I: 25 percent). This puts NDR 90.3 ahead of Radio Hamburg with 22.2 percent.
reception
The broadcasts are broadcast via ultra-short waves with a transmission power of 80 kW and can be received within a radius of around 100 km. In addition, belonging to Hamburg island is to supply Neuwerk about the station Cuxhaven broadcast on 98.4 MHz. Other distribution channels are DVB-S ( Astra ), Internet livestream and, since November 22, 2011, via DAB + .
