The transmitter Cuxhaven is a transmitter of the North German Broadcasting Corporation for the transmission of radio signals. It stands on the 30 meter high Holter Höhe near Altenwalde , about three kilometers southwest of Cuxhaven . The antenna support is a guyed steel lattice tower.

The city of Cuxhaven and surrounding areas as well as the island of Neuwerk , which belongs to the state of Hamburg, are supplied from this transmitter .

Digital television ( DVB-T )

From May 24, 2005 to October 27, 2009, the transmission mast on the Holter Höhe was used to broadcast DVB-T broadcast signals. The relocation to the Friedrich-Clemens-Gerke-Turm made it possible to improve the reception of the multiplexes in the greater Cuxhaven area.
