Klaus & Klaus is a German Schlager singing formation. There are two different line-ups.

First occupation

Klaus Büchner (2008)

Klaus Baumgart met Klaus Büchner , singer of the band Torfrock , in 1980 and founded the duo Klaus & Klaus with him . Their first single was the 1983 song Da stands a horse auf'm Flur ( new version of the Dutch carnival hit He state een paard in de gang by André van Duin ), with which the first two appearances in various television programs. In 1985 the breakthrough came with the single An der Nordseeküste , to the melody of the Irish folk song The Wild Rover . The duo was featured in numerous charts and the single and the long-playing record of the same name achieved gold status, each with over 250,000 copies sold. The duo won the ZDF hit parade and was a guest in almost all of the major television programs. This was followed by further recordings.

1997 Klaus Büchner left the duo Klaus & Klaus to devote himself only to his group Torfrock . His last appearance with Klaus and Klaus was at the Bremen six-day race .

Second occupation

After Klaus Büchner left, Klaus Baumgart founded the trio Klaus & Klaus in 1997 with the Hamburg musician Claas Vogt (born March 29, 1965 in Hamburg) and the parodist Andreas Neumann .

Claas Vogt, initially a tax clerk, studied philosophy and English at the University of Hamburg from 1987 to 1989 , was a member of the Riptide group and, from 1986, of the 8 to the bar group , with which he performed numerous appearances. From 1995 he was a choir singer with Klaus & Klaus and became acquainted with Klaus Baumgart, who brought him into his team after Klaus Büchner left.

The first single of the trio in 1997 was called 3 wie wir . The group then received its own comedy show of the same name from Radio Bremen . The trio was also guests at the current showroom several times . However, due to the numerous commitments, Andreas Neumann left the trio at the end of 2000. Since then there is again a duo Klaus & Klaus .

In 2001 the new duo had a new hit with Ein Weißbier auf der Hütt'n . In 2002 they were back in the German charts with Ein Rudi Völler - There is only one Rudi Völler . Better- known titles in recent years are Die Nurse , Aloha Heja He (new recording of the Achim Reichel hit) and Seemann (Your home is the sea) , which were particularly popular on the holiday island of Mallorca .

Legal disputes

In 1995, Klaus Baumgart filed a lawsuit against Oliver Kalkofe when Klaus and Klaus were referred to as "Squinted toilet brush" and "Freund's bacon" in his program Kalkofes Mattscheibe . After several complaints, the Regional Court of Oldenburg rejected the complaint in the preliminary hearing. As it turned out later, this was just a PR campaign launched by Baumgart's management.

Others

From 1990 to 1993 Klaus Baumgart was vice-president of his home club VfB Oldenburg . During his tenure, the club was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga in 1990. In 2009 the club excluded him. In a report on local television, Baumgart had violently attacked the coach, board and team - also on a personal level - and announced that he was leaving the club after VfB had repeatedly missed promotion to the Regionalliga Nord .

On the 2007 record Jazz ist anders by the punk rock band Die Ärzte , Klaus and Klaus are mentioned in the song Perfect . The text passage reads: "And on the radio they play a song by Klaus and Klaus, but our love can even withstand that."

In 2013, Klaus Baumgart replaced Helmut Berger in the seventh season of Ich bin ein Star - Get me out of here! used. He was voted out of the audience on January 19, 2013.

In June 2015, Klaus and Klaus appeared as guest stars in the Hamburg cruise musical comedy Inner Cabin with Balcony .

On June 20, 2015, Klaus and Klaus set a new world record at the “Bremen Olé” party on the Bürgerweide in Bremen with the longest polonaise with 4405 participants.
