Klaus Baumgart (* 2 September 1954 in Oldenburg ) is a German party hits - vocalist and from the beginning (since 1983) member of the pop duo Klaus and Klaus . He published his solo projects and an album with presenter Harry Wijnvoord under the name The Great Klaus .

Life

Baumgart initially completed his professional training as a retail salesman , worked as a DJ and, in the late 1970s, as head animator at the Punta Arabi holiday club on the party island of Ibiza . In 1979 Klaus Baumgart met Rainer Felsen, who later became his producer. He released his first record under the name Dixie .

Klaus and Klaus continued as a trio for two years, then again as a duo Klaus & Klaus and supplied the Ballermann and après-ski huts with songs. In 2008 he had a role in the novel Meat is My Vegetable . In January 2013, Baumgart was one of the candidates for the show Ich bin ein Star - Get me out of here as a replacement for actor Helmut Berger ! . On January 19, he was chosen by viewers as the second candidate from the show. After his intimate zones in the jungle camp had become partially visible, he forced a new recording of the song Der Eiermann .
