Harry Wijnvoord
Harry Wijnvoord [ harri: vaɪnfɔrt ] (born May 12, 1949 in The Hague ) is a former Dutch presenter of the show The price is hot on RTL Television and RTL plus. This made him, together with his moderation partner Walter Freiwald , popular in Germany.
life and career
Wijnvoord was born in the Netherlands as the oldest of four siblings and moved to Germany with his family in 1964. He initially did an apprenticeship as a furrier , later an apprenticeship as an assistant for business and tax consultants, in which, according to his own statements, he passed the exam at the second attempt "with great difficulty". He ended his activity in this profession after he had received his journeyman's certificate. He then worked for the Greek airline Olympic Airways as a sales representative and for the shipping company North Sea Ferries .
Wijnvoord was discovered by RTL entertainment director Jochen Filser when he was looking for a suitable presenter for the new program Der Preis ist hot , a German adaptation of the US show The price is right . Wijnvoord was hired after screen tests.
After The price is hot , he hosted Stars against Stars (1997) and the cooking show The rice is hot at tm3 . He also moderated the newly created RTL shop . Numerous RTL castings and shows were supported by him. He was also an advertising partner of Slim-Fast and from 2007 to 2009 of ab-in-den-urlaub.de . From 1995 to 2004 he also moderated the Franconian radio station Radio F in Nuremberg . In 2004 he gave his voice to the devil in the film Dieter - The Film . Hell was also unmistakably drawn in that scene as a parody of the game shows “The price is hot” and “Go all out”.
He caused a stir in 2004 when he took part in the RTL jungle show Ich bin ein Star - Get me out of here! , from which he voluntarily dropped out.
He worked as a horse auctioneer and as a presenter for the teleshopping channels pearl.tv and MediaSpar TV . He also worked as a presenter for the RadioGroup in Rhineland-Palatinate on various local broadcasters. Since February 13, 2011, he has hosted the Harry Wijnvoord Show on TV Mittelrhein and WWTV every Sunday . Harry Wijnvoord has been a regular host for the travel channel Sonnenklar.TV since November 2015 . Since June 2015, Wijnvvord has hosted the TV format “On the trail of famous film classics” there.
2016 he took part in the 148th edition of the ARD - the game show Who knows something? part in which he lost to the opposing team at the side of team captain Elton .
In September 2016 he was seen in the Tele-5 -Dokusoap Old Guys on Tour (OGOT). There four former show masters ( Jörg Draeger , Frederic Meisner , Björn-Hergen Schimpf ) hiked the Way of St. James for several days. Karl Dall was active as a guide and commentator.
Until his divorce from his first wife Marianne (1998), Wijnvoord lived in Roth near Nuremberg in Central Franconia , where he also ran the Wijnvoord bistro . He has a son from his first marriage (* 1977). In addition, he was for several years at the Ironman Europe taking place in Roth , as well as at its follow-up event Challenge Roth , speaker at the finish line. He lives in Senden in the Münsterland .
