Björn-Hergen Schimpf

Björn-Hergen Schimpf (born December 4, 1943 in Winsen (Luhe) ; actually Hergen Schimpf ) is a German radio and television presenter .

Life

Schimpf joined the Bundeswehr at the age of 19 and left it after eight years with the rank of sergeant . He then worked as a trainee at the Bild newspaper, among other things . In 1978 he switched to Radio Luxemburg . From 1984 to 1992 Schimpf commented on daily events with the hand puppet Karlchen ( RTL plus ). From January 2, 1984, he presented the “7 to 7” news show together with Hans Meiser , and in 1988 he presented the RTLplus adventure show “Match - Germany's toughest man”. From 1989 to 1992 he also performed the program “ A day like no other ” (RTL plus). In 1993 he switched to public law . There he moderated various programs, including a daily call-in format produced by WDR in the first ("Schimpf 19717").

In 1997 Schimpf switched back to the private sector and hosted the travel show "Björns Welt" at VOX . In 2000 he went back on the air with Karlchen on RTL . Of 5 October 2000 to 10 February 2005, he moderated at kabel eins the program " What am I? ".

In 2005 and 2006 Schimpf alias Karlchen was on the air on "RTL Radio - The best hits of all times" (formerly Radio Luxemburg), a. a. in "Karlchens Plattenkiste", "Karlchens Clever Question" and in the comedy series "Karlchens Kantinen-Klassiker". Since 2008 Schimpf can also be heard as Karlchen on Hitradio RTL Sachsen .

In January 2008 Schimpf was on the RTL reality show “ I'm a star - get me out of here! “To be seen as campers.

Since April 2009 he has been working for “ Sonnenklar.TV ”.

Also in 2009 Björn-Hergen Schimpf completed his first film role in the short film "Unter der Surface", directed by Kai E. Bogatzki.

In September 2016, Tele 5 broadcast the 12 episode documentary soap “Old Guys on Tour” (OGOT). Schimpf walked the Way of St. James for several weeks with his TV colleagues Jörg Draeger , Frederic Meisner and Harry Wijnvoord . Comedian Karl Dall was on board as a tour guide and commentator.

Schimpf lives in Wendland on the Elbe.
