Chris Andrews (born October 15, 1942 in London ; bourgeois Christopher Frederick Andrews ) is a German - British hit and pop singer who lives today in Selm , a town near Dortmund, and on Mallorca.

Live and act

The composer and singer Andrews began his singing career in England at the age of 13. In the early 1960s he appeared in the Hamburg Star Club at the same time as the Beatles . Back in England he founded the band Chris Ravel and the Ravers , where he recorded his first record on Decca Records .

He wrote his first hits for Adam Faith and Sandie Shaw . For the latter he wrote 15 hits alone, including Yesterday Man , which she did not want to record. So he produced the song himself and had his first number one hit. The title became a million seller and also landed first in other European countries, as well as in South Africa and Australia.

Other hits by Chris Andrews in the 1960s were To Whom It Concerns and Pretty Belinda ; the latter has been translated into 9 languages. With the title Sugar Daddy he was seen and heard in 1973 in the film Blue Blossoms of the Gentian . The titles Girl don't come and Yesterday man can be heard in the international cult film The Boat that rocked / Radio Rock Revolution 2009. Chris Andrews has written more than 700 titles for himself and many other national and international artists such as Agnetha Fältskog von Abba , Cher , The Mamas and the Papas , and Peter Orloff .

In July 2007 he married his long-time German partner Alexandra, who also leads his management.

Andrews composes for himself and other artists and appears with and without a band at numerous events, concerts, oldie festivals and TV shows.

Chris Andrews has had German citizenship since 2016.
