The Litava , formerly Cézava ( German Leitha , also Littawa ) is a left tributary of the Svratka .

The Litava rises in the Martian Mountains on the southern slope of the Pláňava ( 569  m ). The source of the Kyjovka is located 300 meters to the northeast . The stream flows through the Studený žleb base in the Chřiby Nature Park in a south-westerly direction to Zástřizly . On its further course in a westerly direction, the valley of the Litava forms the natural border between the Mars Mountains and Steinitzer Forest to the Litentschitzer hill country . About Kožušice , Malínky , Brankovice , Nové Zámky , Nesovice , Letošov , Nevojice , Vícemilice, Bučovice , Marefy, Křižanovice , Hodějice , Slavkov u Brna , Vážany nad Litavou , Hrušky , Zbýšov , Šaratice , Hostěrádky-Rešov , Újezd u Brna , Žatčany , The river Židlochovice reaches Měnín , Albrechtov and Blučina , where it joins the Svratka.

At Zástřizly there are dams on the unfinished Brno - Zlín motorway . The E 50 runs along the river between Slavkov and Kožušice . The Brno - Přerov and Brno - Veselí nad Moravou railway lines run along the Litava between Židlochovice and Brankovice.
