Biagio Antonacci (born November 9, 1963 in Milan ) is an Italian singer and songwriter . While he received little attention at the beginning of his career in the late 1980s, Antonacci has now brought six studio albums to the top of the charts in a row.

Career

Antonacci grew up on the outskirts of Milan in Rozzano and was active in music at an early age, first as a drummer and guitarist, then as a songwriter. He attended a geometer school . After his military service with the Carabinieri in Garlasco and some experience in the Milanese music scene, he entered the Newcomer category of the Sanremo Festival in 1988 with Voglio vivere in un attimo . Despite the lack of success, he received his first record deal in 1989. He made his debut with the album Sono cose che capitano , which was relatively unsuccessful, but contained the single Fiore , which Antonacci first made known on the radio. In 1991 the album Adagio Biagio followed .

Antonacci's breakthrough came in 1992 with the album Liberatemi , the title track of which became a smaller summer hit. On this wave of popularity, the singer took part in the Sanremo Festival in 1993 with Non so più a chi credere . The following self-titled album was able to surpass the success of its predecessor in 1994. Il mucchio from 1996 was first produced by Antonacci himself (together with Fabio Coppini ), Mi fai stare bene from 1998 finally appeared entirely in-house. In 1999 Antonacci recorded the song Message (cover of Se è vero che ci sei ) with Viktor Lazlo, which reached seventh place in the Walloon charts ; it found its way into Lazlo's 2002 album Amour (s) , which contained several French cover versions of Antonacci's songs.

Antonacci began the new millennium with the compilation Tra le mie canzoni . On the day of his 38th birthday he finally released the next studio album 9 / Nov. / 2001 . The two-part album Convivendo was released between 2004 and 2005 . In 2007 Antonacci recorded the album Vicky Love at his home in Bologna , and he also gave a concert at Milan's San Siro stadium , which resulted in a live DVD. After two compilations the next studio album Inaspettata followed in 2010; Antonacci recorded the title track with Leona Lewis , and he also worked for the single Ubbidirò with the rap group Club Dogo . The live album Colosseo from 2011 resulted from a benefit concert of the singer in the Roman Colosseum .

The single Non vivo più senza te from the album Sapessi dire no brought Antonacci a summer hit in 2012, the other singles were also successful. In 2014 he added the album L'amore comporta and the following year the extensive Best Of Biagio was released . He also appeared as a guest star at the 2015 Sanremo Festival .

Private life

The nine-year marriage to Marianna Morandi , the daughter of Gianni Morandi , resulted in two sons: Paolo (* 1995) and Giovanni (* 2001).
