NGC 12 is a barred spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBc in the constellation Pisces on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 181 million light years from the Milky Way and about 60,000 light years in diameter.
The object was discovered on December 6, 1790 by the German-British astronomer Wilhelm Herschel .
