NGC 13 is a spiral galaxy from the Hubble type Sab in the constellation Andromeda the northern sky . It is an estimated 223 million light years from the Milky Way and about 150,000 light years in diameter. The galaxy is considered a member of the NGC 7831 group ( LGG 1 ).
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 6 , NGC 19 , NGC 21 , NGC 7836 .
The object was discovered on November 26, 1790 by the German-British astronomer Wilhelm Herschel .
