NGC 9 is a spiral galaxy of the Hubble type Sb with extensive star formation areas in the constellation Pegasus in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 210 million light years from the Milky Way and about 65,000 light years in diameter.

The object was discovered on September 27, 1865 by the German-Baltic astronomer Otto Wilhelm von Struve .
