NGC 4 is a lenticular galaxy of the Hubble type S0 in the constellation Pisces on the ecliptic . In the same area of the sky are the galaxies NGC 3 , NGC 7837 , NGC 7838 , NGC 7840 .
The object was discovered on November 29, 1864 by the German astronomer Albert Marth .
