NGC 7840 is a spiral galaxy from the Hubble type S in the constellation fish on the ecliptic . In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 3 , NGC 4 , NGC 7837 , NGC 7838 .
The object was discovered on November 29, 1864 by the German astronomer Albert Marth .
