NGC 19 is a barred spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBbc in the constellation Andromeda in the northern sky . It is an estimated 222 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of about 70,000 ly.
In the same area of the sky there are u. a. the galaxies NGC 6 , NGC 13 , NGC 21 , NGC 7836 .
The object was discovered on September 20, 1885 by the American astronomer Lewis A. Swift .
