NGC 43 is a lenticular galaxy of the Hubble type SB0 in the constellation Andromeda in the northern sky . It is an estimated 222 million light years from the Milky Way and is about 105,000 light years in diameter . The galaxy is considered a member of the NGC 7831 group ( LGG 1 ).

In the same area of ​​the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 39 and NGC 44 .

The object was discovered on November 11, 1827 by the British astronomer John Herschel .
