NGC 27 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type Sb in the constellation Pegasus at the northern sky . It is an estimated 213 million light years from the Milky Way and about 130,000 light years in diameter . It probably forms a bound galaxy pair with PGC 731 .
The object was discovered on August 3, 1884 by the American astronomer Lewis A. Swift .
