NGC 38 is a spiral galaxy from the Hubble type Sa in the constellation fish on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 263 million light years from the Milky Way and about 150,000 light years in diameter.
The object was discovered on October 25, 1881 by the French astronomer Édouard Jean-Marie Stephan .
