NGC 26 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type Sab in the constellation Pegasus at the northern sky . It is an estimated 213 million light years from the Milky Way and about 130,000 light years in diameter . It probably forms a bound galaxy pair with NGC 23 .

The object was discovered on September 14, 1865 by the German-Danish astronomer Heinrich Louis d'Arrest .
