NGC 7819 is a barred spiral galaxy with extensive star formation from Hubble type SBb in the constellation Pegasus at the northern sky . It is an estimated 230 million light years from the Milky Way and about 100,000 light years in diameter . The galaxy is considered a member of the NGC 7831 group ( LGG 1 ).
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 7805 and NGC 7806 .
The object was discovered by Ralph Copeland on October 26, 1872 .
