NGC 7818 is a spiral galaxy of Hubble type Scd in the constellation Pisces on the ecliptic . It is an estimated 283 million light years from the Milky Way and about 85,000 light years in diameter .
The galaxies NGC 7816 and NGC 7824 are located in the same area of the sky .
The object was discovered on October 23, 1886 by the American astronomer Lewis A. Swift .
