The Biographical Lexicon of Socialism. Volume I. Deceased personalities is an encyclopedia on persons of the German labor movement by Franz Osterroth .

The lexicon lists a total of 703 biographies of well-known "deceased [r] personalities of the socialist movement [...]. It is about people who were involved in the intellectual life of socialism, in the social democratic parties, the free trade unions, the cooperatives, in workers' sport and in the most diverse branches of the socialist cultural movement emerged ”. 31 of these short biographies deal with women. It was published in 1960 in the first and only edition by JHW Dietz Nachf. GmbH, Hanover . No other volumes have been published. Erich Ollenhauer wrote a preface (p. 5 f.) To this book.

There are 48 plates with 552 illustrations (mostly photographs), a register of persons (p. 351 ff.), A list of abbreviations (p. 366) and picture credits (p. 368).
