Apostolic Association

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

An apostolic association is an association of lay people who come together with the aim of working together on an apostolate in the Catholic Church .

The decree Apostolicam actuositatem on the lay apostolate states that the various apostolic associations are to serve the fulfillment of the Church's mission to the world and their apostolic power therefore depends “on their conformity to the aims of the Church and on Christian witness and the evangelical spirit of her individual members and the whole association ”.
