The musical successes of 1966 were awarded the US Grammy on March 2, 1967 at the ninth award of their kind .

A total of 42 prizes were awarded in 15 different fields at the 1967 Grammy Awards . After three male winners, the jazz singer Ella Fitzgerald was the first woman to be honored for her life's work.
