Rockstar is a song by American rapper Post Malone with a guest part from 21 Savage . It was released on September 15, 2017 via Republic Records as the first single from his second studio album, Beerbongs & Bentleys (2018). The song was written by the two artists, Carl Austin Rosen, Joey Badass , Olufunmibi Awoshiley and Louis Bell. Bell and Tank God were responsible for the production. Rockstar became an international hit. In several states it reached the top positions in the charts, u. a. in the USA, the UK and Austria. According to the record awards, the piece sold over 12.6 million times. It received two nominations at the 2019 Grammy Awards for Record of the Year and Best Rap / Sung Collaboration . It couldn't win either of the two prizes.

It stayed in the US charts for 41 weeks and was certified eight times platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). It debuted at number five in the UK and moved up to number two the following week before heading to the top in the third week of the chart. It has been awarded double platinum certification by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) for 1.2 million sales. In Austria, Australia, Canada, Ireland, Portugal, New Zealand, Sweden, Finland, Norway and Denmark it was also able to achieve the top position. In Germany, the song rose to number 13 and jumped to number two the following week, where it lasted five weeks. It was awarded triple gold by the Federal Association of the Music Industry (BVMI).
