Maren Morris
Maren Larae Morris (* 10. April 1990 in Dallas , Texas , United States ) is an American with the Grammy excellent Country singer .
Career
Maren Morris not only started making music at a very early age, she made recordings at a young age and had completed three albums by 2011, mostly with songs she had written herself. The following year she went to Nashville , where she first came to work as a songwriter. She was involved in songs by Tim McGraw ( Last Turn Home ) and Kelly Clarkson ( Second Wind ), among others .
Her own music career initially only consisted of appearances beyond the United States. That changed with the song My Church , which she recorded in 2015 and released digitally. It thus reached over 2.5 million streaming views and attracted the attention of the big labels. She signed with Sony Music and released an EP titled with her name that same year. Both the EP and the song My Church made it into the respective charts and stayed there for several months. The song reached number 5 in the country charts, sold over a million copies and received a platinum award for it .
In mid-2016, the first album followed on a major label with the title Hero . This put Morris straight away at number 1 on the country charts and at number 5 in the official album charts . She was then named best newcomer at the CMA Awards . She was also nominated for best newcomer at the Grammy Awards and in three country categories. Eventually she received the Best Country Solo Performance award .
Together with the German-Russian DJ Zedd , she released the song The Middle in January 2018 , which moves stylistically between electronic dance and country music.
In March 2019, she released her second studio album Girl , which was streamed 24 million times in the first week, breaking the record for the most streamed country studio album by a woman within a week. The first single of the same name was released in January 2019.
Private
Morris married Ryan Hurd , also a singer, in March 2018. On March 23, 2020 their first child, Hayes Andrew Hurd, was born.
