Dierks Bentley
Dierks Bentley (born November 20, 1975 in Phoenix , Arizona ) is an American country musician. By March 2018, he had eleven number one songs and six number one albums on the country charts.
Life
Dierks Bentley, who grew up in Phoenix, started out as a rock musician, then switched to country music. After finishing school, he began college in Nashville , the center of the genre.
The entry into the local music scene was initially disappointing. It was only when he came into contact with bluegrass at the Station Inn that he found a satisfactory musical environment. He perfected his guitar playing and started writing songs. With the support of friends, he produced his own album in 2001. The Capitol label became aware of the young talent and took him under contract.
The single What Was I Thinkin , released from the 2003 album Dierks Bentley , reached number one on the country charts. The album itself achieved platinum status. Bentley had made the breakthrough after years of hard work. He was named “Young Artist of the Year” by the Academy of Country Music .
Extensive touring activities followed. In 2005 he became a permanent member of the Grand Ole Opry . In the same year his second album Modern Day Drifter was released , which was again awarded platinum. He co-wrote most of the songs as a co-author. The two decoupled singles Come a Little Closer and Settle For a Slowdown reached the top of the country charts.
The album Long Trip Alone , released in 2006, was gilded. With the single Every Mile a Memory Dierks Bentley could again conquer number one in the country charts. The song also earned him a Grammy nomination.
In April 2009 Dierks Bentley presented his fifth album Feel That Fire . With the single of the same name and the title Sideways , he again took first place in the country charts.
In early 2010 Bentley's bluegrass album Up on the Ridge was released , on which he fused bluegrass and country with the help of the Punch Brothers and the Del McCoury Band.
