Genevieve Clottey (also: Genevive Clottey ; born April 25, 1969 ) is a former Ghanaian soccer player .

Career

Clottey began in the early 1980s with the football games and played in 1991 for the first team of Ghatel Ladies , most recently as captain of the team in the Greater Accra Women Soccer League. In early 2003 she ended her club career.

The 168 cm tall midfielder was the first female captain of the Ghanaian national team ("Black Queens") and took part with the national team in the 1999 and 2003 World Cups, where she played a total of six games. She was also at the 1998 and 2000 African Championships in the Black Queens squad. In 2004, Clottey was named a national player for the last time.
