The Ghatel Ladies Football Club of Accra is a Ghanaian women's football club from Accra .

history

With four titles since the Greater Accra Women Soccer League was founded in 2000, the Ghatel Ladies are the record champions of this league. In addition, the team from Accra was runner-up in 2002 and 2003 at the Greater Accra WSL. 2001 first took part in the renowned African WAFU Tournament in Ouagadougou in Burkina Faso . Since December 2012 the club has been a member of the first African women's professional league, the National Women's League.

Well-known players

One of the most famous players is the former Black Queens ( Ghanaian national soccer team for women ) captain Gloria Oforiwaa , who was awarded the Maiden Trophy, the highest award for women soccer players, at the Bonwire Kente Festival in Accra in October 2003 . As well as Adjoa Bayor and Florence Okoe , who played as professional footballers in Germany for a while. Bayor played in the Bundesliga for FF USV Jena and Okoe played for Tennis Borussia Berlin .
