Alberta Sackey (born November 6, 1972 in Accra ) is a former Ghanaian soccer player . In April 2003 she was named Africa's Soccer Player of the Year 2002.
Career
Sackey came during her club career for the Ghatel Ladies (1999) and the Chicago Robert Morris College (2001-2005) to use. She studied business administration at Robert Morris College, graduating in 2005 with a Bachelor of Business Administration .
The 168 cm tall attacker took part with the Ghanaian national team ("Black Queens") in the 1999 and 2003 World Championships ; she played six games and scored two goals. She was also at the African Championships in 1998 , 2000 and 2002 in the squad of the Black Queens. By September 2003, she had played 47 international matches and scored 15 goals. After Sackey had announced her end of career in the national team following the World Cup in 2003, she returned in February 2004 for an international match in the Black Queens squad.
