Florence Okoe (born November 12, 1984 in Mpraeso , Kwahu South District , Ghana ) is a Ghanaian soccer player.

Life

Career

Okoe began her career with the La Ladies in Accra before joining the Ghatel Ladies of Accra in spring 2008 . After a year and a half with the Ghatel Ladies, she and her compatriot Rumanatu Tahiru entered the women's Bundesliga at Tennis Borussia Berlin in the summer of 2009 . She played in 21 league games for TeBe, but after relegation to the 2nd Bundesliga she turned her back on the club and went back to Ghana, where she signed with the Madonna Ladies. She played for the Madonna Ladies for about three years before moving to Immigration FC , the soccer team of the Ghana Police Service , with a focus on immigration in September 2013 . After half a year with the Immigration Ladies, she played for half a year for the Madonna Ladies before joining the Police Ladies based in Kumasi in May 2014 .

National team

Okoe has been a member of the Ghanaian national soccer team for women since 2002 and participated in the 2003 and 2007 World Cups. Since the end of Adjoa Bayor's career , she has been deputy team captain for the Black Queens.

Others

In addition to her active career, Okoe is a police officer for the Ghana Police Service in Accra . After graduating from the Upper East Regional Police Training School in Bolgatanga in September 2013, she initially worked for the Ghana Immigration Service of GPS Ghana.
