Gerald Levert

Gerald Levert (* 13. July 1966 in Cleveland , † 10. November 2006 in Newbury Township , Ohio ) was a US -American R & B singer.

biography

Gerald Levert came from a very musical family. His father, Eddie Levert , was the lead singer of the 1970s soul group The O'Jays . Gerald Levert sang with his brother Sean Levert and Marc Gordon in the R&B trio LeVert . He was also part of LSG , an R&B group made up of Keith Sweat , Johnny Gill, and himself.

Levert died in his sleep from a lethal mixture of pain relievers and a sedative. This was the result of the autopsy of the artist, who was only 40 years old. Traces of Vicodin , Percocet and Darvocet were found in his body in association with the sedative Xanax . The reason for taking these drugs was an after-effects of the operation, because since an operation on his shoulder in 2005 he has been plagued by pain that he has tried to alleviate without medical advice. He also suffered from panic anxiety, which is probably why the active ingredient of Xanax was found in his blood. The autopsy also revealed pneumonia . He left four children.
