biography
In the mid-1990s, R&B singer Keith Sweat contacted his fellow musician Gerald Levert, who had already been successful with his band LeVert and as a solo artist, and told him about his idea of creating an album with his friend, R&B singer Johnny Gill record. For this project, the three musicians worked with various producers and artists, including Sean Combs , Jermaine Dupri , LL Cool J , Busta Rhymes and MC Lyte .
The album Levert - Sweat - Gill was released in 1997, rose to number 4 on the US album charts and number 2 on the R&B charts and was awarded double platinum ; the release My Body reached number 4 on the local singles chart as well as the top position in the R&B charts and received a platinum record. In 1998 a few more singles appeared , but they did not make it into the pop charts. The songs Curious , Door # 1 and All the Times reached middle positions in the R&B charts thanks to the active use of the radio.
Six years later Levert, Sweat and Gill came together to produce a second album together. The work, known as LSG2, went on sale in 2003 and was ranked 6th in the US charts, similar to its predecessor, but only stayed in the charts for 8 weeks - the album Levert - Sweat - Gill previously managed over 42 weeks. None of the singles released could build on the success of My Body , only Just Friends was briefly placed in the lower area of the R&B charts.
