Sean Levert (* 28. September 1968 in Cleveland , Ohio ; † 30th March 2008 ) was a US -American Contemporary R & B singer.

biography

Sean Levert was born in September 1968 to the soul singer Eddie Levert . Together with his two years older brother Gerald Levert and Marc Gordon, he founded the R&B trio LeVert in the mid-1980s . Until the breakup in the 1990s, the three of them released a total of eight albums.

While his brother tried early on for a solo career, Sean Levert only started an attempt in 1995 with the album Other Side . The album reached number 146 in the US album charts and number 4 in the Heatseekers (the category for newcomers). The two singles Put Your Body Where Your Mouth Is and Same One only made it to the R&B charts.

In 2008 Levert was sentenced to 22 months in prison for failing to support his three children. On March 30, 2008, a week after serving his sentence, Levert was admitted to hospital in Ohio with high blood pressure and hallucinations , where he died that same day at the age of 39. Sarcoid was given as the cause of death .
