Mack 10
Mack 10 (born August 9, 1971 in Inglewood , California ; actually Dedrick Rolison ) is an American gangsta rapper . He is the CEO of Hoo Bangin Records and was a member of the hip hop group Westside Connection .
Life
Mack 10 came as David Rolison in the deprived area Inglewood , California , the son of an African-American mother and a Mexican father born. He is a member of the Queen Street Bloods . As a rapper, he was initially only known in his local community, but his professional career began in 1995 when his own album was released. Previously he was a member of the "Brokin English Klik" along with the rapper and producer phase. Unusually, this album is a East Coast -Rap album, although Mack 10 actually a rapper from the West Coast is. It was released on the New York label Wild Pitch. The whole album sounds like a typical East Coast album from the early 1990s, which is very unusual for Mack 10. With the support of West Coast rapper Ice Cube and his single Foe Life , Mack achieved 10 gold status. In 1996 he founded the Westside Connection with Ice-Cube and WC, after which they released a joint album. In 1997 the song Foe Life could be heard in the film Anaconda , in which Ice Cube played one of the leading roles. After his second album Based On A True Story , which was released in 1998 and received gold status, he founded his own label, Hoo Bangin Records. With the recession of gangsta rap in 1997, Mack 10's career also crumbled, whereupon only his successor album could achieve gold status, but the albums that were released later went under in disinterest. When the partnership with the Priority Records label also crumbled, Mack signed 10 with the Dirty South label Cash-Money Records, where he still releases his albums today.
In 2000, Mack 10 married TLC singer Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins . They have a daughter, Chase Rolison (born October 20, 2000). In 2004, Tionne Watkins got divorced.
