Warren G
Warren G (actually Warren Griffin III ; born November 10, 1970 in Long Beach , California ) is an American rapper and music producer . The stepbrother of Dr. Dre began his career on Dr's album The Chronic .
Life
Warren G grew up in Long Beach and was good friends with Nate Dogg and Snoop Dogg . The three joined forces in 1991 to form the rap group 213 , which was the area code of their home town of Long Beach at the time.
His best known single as a solo artist is Regulate feat. Nate Dogg from the album Regulate ... G Funk Era (1994), for which he used a sample from Michael McDonald's Keep Forgettin ' .
For his album Take a Look Over Your Shoulder he covered I Shot The Sheriff by Bob Marley and What's Love Got To Do With It by Tina Turner .
He is currently under contract with the record label Peppermint Jam . He is also on the production team of Dr. Dres Aftermath Entertainment .
