Sex mob
Sex Mob is a jazz formation founded in 1995 by New York musicians Steven Bernstein ( slide trumpet ), Briggan Krauss ( alto saxophone ), Tony Scherr ( electric bass ) and Kenny Wollesen ( drums ).
Sex Mob mainly plays cover versions of pop songs such as Prince (but also the score for the James Bond films), which are bizarre and interpreted using avant-garde jazz . Since the first CD was released in 1998, five more CDs have been released, with Sexotica being nominated for a Grammy in 2007 in the category “Best Contemporary Jazz Album”.
