Larry Goldings (born August 28, 1968 in Boston , Massachusetts ) is an American jazz musician ( organ , piano ) and composer .

Live and act

Larry Goldings began taking piano lessons at the age of nine. It was only from around 1990 that he turned to the Hammond-B3 . Goldings' play is characterized by immense stylistic agility: he plays funk with Maceo Parker , folk and pop music with colleagues like James Taylor or Norah Jones , modern jazz with a blues base with John Scofield and in a trio with Jack DeJohnette and John Scofield more abstract jazz. In addition, he presented piano recordings of classical jazz standards reminiscent of James P. Johnson or Erroll Garner . The music of his own trio, in which Bill Stewart and Peter Bernstein often take part, also testify to this versatility.
