The Soweto Gospel Choir is a South African gospel choir.

The group of around 30 members was founded by choir directors David Mulovhedzi and Beverly Bryer in the Johannesburg district of Soweto . It presents a mixture of African gospel, negro spiritual , reggae and American pop music . She had her first appearance in 2003 at the concert 46664 , which was inspired by Nelson Mandela . Since then she has completed several international tours.

With her album Blessed she won the 2007 Grammy Award in the category "Best Traditional World Music Album". On July 7th, 2007 the choir performed at the Live Earth concert in Randburg .

In 2010 the Soweto Gospel Choir sang the hymn Sign of Victory together with the American R. Kelly at the opening ceremony of the Soccer World Cup in South Africa . In 2015 the choir worked with Peter Gabriel for a United Nations campaign .
