The recording of the world premiere, which was released on CD by Hänssler, was nominated for a Grammy and a Latin Grammy in 2002. For the world premiere of Ayre, Golijov founded another ensemble: “The Andalucian Dogs”. This performed the work together with Dawn Upshaw in the Zankel Hall and recorded it for Deutsche Grammophon .
