Miranda Lambert
Miranda Leigh Lambert (* 10. November 1983 in Lindale , Texas ) is an American country - singer and Grammy -Preisträgerin.
biography
Lambert is the daughter of country songwriter and guitarist Rick Lambert. She also played guitar at the age of 16 and wrote her own songs. She founded the Texas Pride Band, with which she performed professionally. With the support of her father, she recorded her debut album in 2001, which bears her name. She also took part in talent competitions, which gave her, among other things, a small role in the film Naughty Beasts! brought in.
In 2003 she won the local elimination for the Nashville Star. The televised finale of this talent show she finished as third place and had thus won a record deal. Their debut album on Epic Records was called Kerosene and went straight to number 1 on the country charts. It stayed there for over 100 weeks and sold over a million units (platinum status) during that time.
Two years later, the next album, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend , followed, again at number 1 on country albums and in the top 10 of the general sales charts. This album was awarded a gold record . Again every two years, album number three, Revolution , was released, which also reached number 1 on the country charts.
In 2011 she married her colleague Blake Shelton ; In 2015 the couple split. On February 14, 2019, Miranda Lambert announced on Twitter that she had married New York police officer Brendan McLoughlin.
Awards
Lambert was nominated for a Grammy in 2007, 2008 and 2010 and won it in 2011 in the category Best Female Country Vocal Performance for The House That Built Me . For her album Platinum , which was released in 2014 , she received her second Grammy in the category Best Country Album .
