Blake Shelton
Blake Shelton Tollison (* 18th June 1976 in Ada , Oklahoma ) is an American country - singer and songwriter . He had his 14th number 1 hit in the country charts in 2019 with God's Country .
biography
Blake Shelton was born in Oklahoma and began singing in early childhood. At the age of 16 he was honored with the "Denbo Diamond Award", which the state of Oklahoma gives to young entertainers. At 17, he moved to Nashville to become a professional country musician.
In 1998 Shelton got a recording deal with Warner Brothers. 2001 was initially planned to release the song I Wanna Talk About Me as Shelton's first single; However, the record company decided at short notice because they did not consider the title to be promising as a debut. The song later became a number 1 hit for Toby Keith . Instead, the ballad became Austin Shelton's debut single, which stayed at number 1 on the country charts for five weeks and reached number 18 on the pop charts. The song came from Shelton's debut album Blake Shelton , from which the tracks All Over Me and Ol 'Red were decoupled, which also reached the top 20 of the country charts.
Shelton's second album The Dreamer was released in February 2003, and the release The Baby stayed at number 1 on the country charts for two weeks. In 2004 Shelton's third studio album Blake Shelton's Barn & Grill was released ; the track Some Beach became his third number 1 single. The next two releases, a cover of Conway Twitty's single Goodbye Time from 1988 and Nobody But Me also made it into the top 10. All three albums were produced by Bobby Braddock and achieved gold status.
Shelton's fourth album, entitled Pure BS , was released in 2007, the Michael Bublé cover Home , which was added and decoupled from a rerelease in 2008 , became Shelton's fourth number 1 single. In the same year, Shelton was on the jury of the casting shows Nashville Star and Clash of the Choirs .
In November 2008, Blake Shelton's fifth album Startin 'Fires was released . With the single She Wouldn't Be Gone , he took the top of the country charts again in February 2009. Hillbilly Bone , a duet with Trace Adkins , for which Shelton received an ACM Award for “Vocal Event of the Year”, followed just as successfully in the same year . In 2010, Shelton had his seventh No. 1 hit with All About Tonight . Shelton's songs almost always made it into the US pop charts . In 2013 he made a guest appearance on the sitcom Malibu Country .
Private life
In 2003 Shelton married longtime girlfriend Kaynette Williams; the marriage was divorced in 2006. In 2011 he married his colleague Miranda Lambert ; In 2015 the couple split. In autumn 2015 it became known that he is in a relationship with the singer Gwen Stefani . In 2017 he was named " Sexiest Man Alive " by People magazine .
