Trace Adkins (2009)

Tracy Darrell Adkins (born January 13, 1962 in Springhill , Louisiana ) is an American country singer and actor.

Life

Trace Adkins is counted among the new traditionalists who, contrary to the prevailing mainstream trend, initiated a cautious return to traditional country music in the 1990s .

In addition to (This Ain't) No Thinkin 'Thing (1997), Ladies Love Country Boys (2007) and You're Gonna Miss This (2008), which made it to No. 1 on the US country charts, to include his greatest hits Every Light in the House (1996), I Left Something Turned On at Home , I'm Tryin ' (2001), Then They Do (2003) and Hot Mama (2004). In Germany, Adkins became known to a larger audience in 2006 with Honky Tonk Badonkadonk ; the single reached number 2 in the US country charts.

In 1997 the Academy of Country Music named Adkins "New Vocalist of the Year". His Greatest Hits Collection, Vol. 1 , reached number one on the country albums chart in 2003 and the top ten on the pop charts.

In the last ten years he has also appeared increasingly as an actor in various cinema and television productions.

Adkins has been married to Rhonda Forlaw since 1997 and has five daughters, two of whom are from a previous marriage. In 2014, the couple filed for divorce.
