Lindale is a city in Smith County in the state of Texas in the United States .

The city is located on US Highway 69 in northeast Texas, about 150 km to the north from Oklahoma , about 125 km to the east from Louisiana and has a total area of ​​10.4 square kilometers, of which 0.1 square kilometers is water.

history

The area was settled before 1873 before the Lyndale Post Office opened. The following year the name was changed to Lindale and in 1875 the settlement got connection to the International Great Northern Railroad . Five years later, 300 people lived here and in 1902 it was the largest city in the county with 1200 people.
