Lewisville is a city in Denton County and Dallas County in the US state of Texas .

The city is located in northeast Texas, 16 km northeast of Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport , 47 km northeast of Fort Worth and has a total area of 109.7 km², of which 14.4 km² is water.

According to the 2000 census, 77,737 people lived here in 30,043 households and 19,828 families. The population density was 815.8 people per km². The racial the population was composed of 77.20% White, 7.39% African American, 0.70% Native American, 3.90% Asian, 0.03% Pacific Islander, and 8.32% other ethnic groups. About 2.46% were mixed race and 17.75% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
Of the 30,043 households, 36.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them. 52.3% of them were married couples living together. 9.6% were single mothers and 34.0% were non-families. 25.2% of all households were single households and there were people living in 2.9% who were 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.58 and the average family size was 3.13.
26.6% of the population were under 18 years old, 11.8% 18 to 24, 41.2% 25 to 44, 16.1% 45 to 64, and 4.3% who were 65 years of age or older . The median age was 30 years. For every 100 females of all age groups, there were 99.9 males. For every 100 women aged 18 and over there were 99.1 men.
