Tego Calderón , actually Tegui Calderón Rosario (born February 1, 1972 in Santurce , Puerto Rico ) is an actor and popular musician of the genres Reggaetón , Hurban ( Hispanic Urban ) and Salsa . Although Tego Calderon is partly involved in reggaetón productions, he sees himself as a rapper and representative of Latin Hip Hop . Tego Calderón is also known by its nickname El Abayarde .

Life

He grew up in Carolina (Puerto Rico) and Florida .

In 2002 his first album "El abayarde" was released, which was mainly produced by the Dominican reggaeton duo Luny Tunes and made him a star in all of Latin America .

Since then he has also been heard frequently as a guest musician and in remixes ( e.g. Yeah by Usher , Oye mi canto by NORE & Nina Sky , Envidia v on Aventura , Mundian to bach ke (Furia de mentira) by Panjabi MC , Latin thugs (Llegaron los meromeros) with Cypress Hill , Lean back by Fat Joe , together with Don Omar in the reggaeton remix of We fly high by Jim Jones or I wanna fuck you by Akon and Snoop Dogg ).

The actual reggaetón artist Tego Calderón also undertakes musical excursions into other genres more frequently. Already on his first album El Abayarde a salsa track could be heard (Planté bandera) . Other salsa tracks followed later (for example Che che colé with Víctor Manuelle , Llora, llora and Llámame with Óscar d'León or Quítate tú pa 'ponerme yo with Eddie Dee , Julio Voltio , Ivy Queen and Zion y Lennox ), a blues (Mardi gras) and a Jamaican -style reggae song ( Chillin ' with Don Omar ), which show the stylistic versatility of Tego Calderón.
