Voltio (* 11 June 1977 in Santurce , Puerto Rico as Julio Irving Ramos Filomeno ) is a rapper. He is one of the most noticeable and most frequently heard voices of reggaetón .

Surname

His name "Voltio" (and he also calls himself "El voltaje") comes from the fact that he was an electrician before his career as a musician. It was called "bombillo" (light bulb) and "cortocircuito" (short circuit) by colleagues, later someone named it "voltio" (volt) and "voltaje" (electrical voltage).

Career

As a teenager he was a member of the band "The Masters of Funk" - together with Héctor Delgado Román, who later enjoyed great success in the duo Héctor y Tito and solo as Héctor "El Bambino", Héctor "El Father" and Héctor "El Padre" scored.

In 1997 he continued his career in the duo "Karel & Voltio".

He now works solo. Julio Voltio was heard in 2004 in the song Bumper with Pitbull , in 2005 in the song I Am on Ricky Martins album Life , also in 2005 together with Tego Calderón , Fat Joe and Maestro in the song Julito maraña , and in 2006 with Residente Calle 13 in the song Chulin culín chunfly .

Julio Voltio's voice is very often used for remixes of hits.
