Life

When they were kids, Eduardo would visit his stepbrother every week on 13th Street, hence the name Calle 13 . When René, called Residente , and Eduardo, called Visitante , grew up, they founded Calle 13 .

At the age of six, Eduardo was exposed to the Suzuki method of learning music by his mother , he continued to take piano lessons with Jose Acevedo . Shortly thereafter, he initiated his studies in the Music Conservatry and the Manolo Acosto School of Art. Eduardo was a model student there and worked on the saxophone, the flute and independently the piano. Eduardo later taught himself to play the guitar. “During my final years at school, I started playing music in the streets ... that made me discover the rhythm of the street ... pop , salsa , Brazilian music ,” Eduardo recalls. He learned accounting and IT communication in Pio Pledras, Recinto de Río. “Even though I've never worked in any other field, music made me want to move on,” he claims. In January 2011 he married the Cuban singer Diana Fuentes .

René grew up writing poetry, film scripts and songs. This led to the fact that he developed into an extraordinary poet. He studied five years at the Escuela de Artes Plásticas in Puerto Rico and studied animation at Savannah University, Georgia . René already lived in Spain , the USA and Puerto Rico and was looking for ways and opportunities to fulfill his artistic drive. He filmed videos for art galleries and wrote songs and a short film about morals and pleasure influenced by Dadaism .
