Trisha Yearwood
Trisha Yearwood (* 19th September 1964 as Patricia Lynn Yearwood in Monticello , Georgia ) is an award with the Grammy excellent American country singer sold to date 16 million albums. With 19 top 10 hits, five of them at number one, she is one of the most successful country singers of the 1990s. In the standard work Top Country Songs 1944-2005 , she is listed for this decade in second place behind Reba McEntire .
biography
Her father, Jack Yearwood, was a well-known banker. Trisha studied music and later worked for a record company in Nashville . In 1991 she released her debut single She's in Love with the Boy and toured as an opener with country singer Garth Brooks . The song brought her the breakthrough right away. Yearwood was number one on the country charts for two weeks. This was followed by the number one hits XXX's and OOO's (An American Girl) (1994), Thinkin 'About You (1995), Believe Me Baby (I Lied) (1996) and Perfect Love (1998). The biggest success, however, was their version of How Do I Live , their only Top 40 hit in 1997 in the American pop and number two in the country charts. Yearwood was awarded a Grammy for this. She was also allowed to present the ballad written by Diane Warren live at the Academy Awards in 1998 , because the title was part of the soundtrack to Con Air and nominated for best movie song. How Do I Live was also one of the new songs on Yearwood's most successful album (songbook) A Collection of Hits (1997), which sold over four million times in the US alone.
Yearwood also had a few hits after that, including with her future husband Garth Brooks ( In Another's Eyes , Where Your Road Leads ). The last time Yearwood was in the top 10 of the country charts in 2001 was I Would've Loved You Anyway . Her hit career slackened significantly and the gaps between the albums got bigger and bigger. Yearwood therefore looked for other fields of activity. She tried, among other things, as an actress. Between 2002 and 2005 she appeared in the television series JAG - On behalf of the honor in a guest role as pathologist Teresa "Terri" Coulter.
Her cooking show Trisha's Southern Kitchen , which was awarded an Emmy , and her three cookbooks are very successful .
Private life
Trisha Yearwood was married to Christopher Latham from 1987 to 1991. They married Robert Reynolds (ex-member of The Mavericks ) in 1994 and divorced in 1999. On December 10, 2005, she finally married Garth Brooks, with whom she had worked over and over again for a good 25 years.
